JUVE STARLET ON GOLDEN BOY LIST

Juventus player Dejan Kulusevski has been named on the list of the best young players in European football. The Golden Boy Award is given to players under the age of 21 in addition to them playing in a strong league on the European football scene. The Award is organised by Tuttosport, a leading newspaper that covers a lot of Italian football.

Dejan Kulusevskiis the only player based in Italy on the list of the top ten as far as the 2020 Golden Boy Award is concerned. He was sixth on the list behind the quintet of Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho, Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies, Barcelona attacker Ansu Fati and Borussia Dortmund striker ErlingHaaland.

Camavinga, Sancho, Davies, Fati and Haaland finished in 5th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd and 1st respectively. ErlingHaaland is the latest recipient of the award replacing Atletico Madrid attacker Joao Felix who won the Golden Boy Award last year.

Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden has seen his stock rise in the past months and he’s seventh on the Golden Boy Award list. The young England international scored his first goals for the Three Lions in the midweek win over Iceland. He scored a brace in the 4-0 win for England at the expense of their hosts.Red Bull Salzburg player Dominik Szoboszlai, Arsenal player Bukayo Saka and Real Madrid attacker Vinicius Jr. complete the top ten list of players as far as the Golden Boy Award is concerned.

Swedish international Dejan Kulusevskistormed Italian football while he was on loan at Parma last season. He was on loan at Parma from Atalanta before Juventus signed him in January 2020 for a fee of around €35m plus €9m in add-ons to make it €44m potentially. The player was then loaned back to Parma afterwards. He was named the Best Young Player in the Serie A last season.
